HR Manager
OVERVIEW:
Our Human Resources team is dedicated to problem-solving and enhancing employee satisfaction. As we pursue our mission of advancing knowledge-sharing solutions, our Tokyo, Japan office seeks a Human Resources Manager to elevate our culture and people programs.
As the HR Manager in our Tokyo office, you will have the opportunity to shape a high-performing organization. Your innovative ideas and management skills will ensure that HR initiatives and services align with business objectives, enhancing employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote open communication and resolve conflicts to foster a positive work environment
- Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary issues promptly and fairly
- Develop and implement initiatives to boost employee engagement and productivity
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related issues
- Conduct regular performance reviews that align with company goals
- Identify organizational training needs and develop appropriate programs
- Coordinate and deliver training sessions, workshops, and seminars
- Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations
- Coordinate monthly payroll changes with local payroll provider and Head of Global Payroll
- Support office administration, including the employee snack program and event coordination
- Prepare regular reports on HR metrics such as turnover rates, recruitment efficiency, and internal mobility
- Conduct market analysis to benchmark salaries and benefits
WHAT YOU HAVE:
- A degree from a 3+ year university
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese labor law, social and welfare benefits, and HR administration
- At least 5 years of experience as an HR Manager or higher, focusing on performance management, onboarding, and exit processes
- Proficiency in HRIS management
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced international environment
- An internal consultant mindset with proven experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent project management skills: prioritizing workload, planning and organizing, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive, results-oriented work style
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to drive best practices globally
- Fluency in Japanese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
