HR Manager

OVERVIEW:
Our Human Resources team is dedicated to problem-solving and enhancing employee satisfaction. As we pursue our mission of advancing knowledge-sharing solutions, our Tokyo, Japan office seeks a Human Resources Manager to elevate our culture and people programs.
As the HR Manager in our Tokyo office, you will have the opportunity to shape a high-performing organization. Your innovative ideas and management skills will ensure that HR initiatives and services align with business objectives, enhancing employee engagement, productivity, and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote open communication and resolve conflicts to foster a positive work environment
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary issues promptly and fairly
  • Develop and implement initiatives to boost employee engagement and productivity
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related issues
  • Conduct regular performance reviews that align with company goals
  • Identify organizational training needs and develop appropriate programs
  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions, workshops, and seminars
  • Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations
  • Coordinate monthly payroll changes with local payroll provider and Head of Global Payroll
  • Support office administration, including the employee snack program and event coordination
  • Prepare regular reports on HR metrics such as turnover rates, recruitment efficiency, and internal mobility
  • Conduct market analysis to benchmark salaries and benefits

WHAT YOU HAVE:
  • A degree from a 3+ year university
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese labor law, social and welfare benefits, and HR administration
  • At least 5 years of experience as an HR Manager or higher, focusing on performance management, onboarding, and exit processes
  • Proficiency in HRIS management
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced international environment
  • An internal consultant mindset with proven experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent project management skills: prioritizing workload, planning and organizing, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive, results-oriented work style
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to drive best practices globally
  • Fluency in Japanese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
