Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Reporting to: Branch General Manager and Head Office IT/HK IT
Cause of Recruitment: Replacement

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines
  • Good knowledge and understanding of network infrastructure such as switches, routers, firewalls, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and good understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server
  • Programming in Excel (VBA, macros, ODBC connectivity) and automation under Windows and Unix (Red Hat) environments
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge in desktop support and incident management
  • Knowledge of the financial industry is preferred
  • Microsoft certifications (MCSE, MCSA)
  • IT certifications (ITIL, CGEIT) and other certifications will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Forms, and Lists is preferable for the development of workflows using Power Automate
  • Proficient in English is preferable (any other European languages would be a plus)

Scope and Purpose:
  • Sound knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Prepare and manage technical documentation and operation manuals
  • Implement controls and checks on IT systems
  • Ability to transform business requirements into technical requirements
  • Manage IT fixed assets and accessories (purchase and disposal, maintenance, record keeping, etc.)
  • Handle IT-related reporting, requests, and queries
  • Handle staff access to the branch’s systems
  • 1st level help desk support (for desktops, laptops, printers, corporate handphones, internet, etc.)
  • Attend to problems regarding SIRE (IBM AS400 core banking system), SWIFT, etc., open incident tickets to Head Office Helpdesk and follow up
  • Monitor and ensure the IT system health status and performance
  • Ensure the operations of the Voice Recording system
  • Ensure the first level support of trading platforms like Bloomberg, Reuters, IPC Dealer Phones, etc.
  • Perform support/administration duties on system/networking infrastructure including server room facilities such as network patching, monitoring of UPS and cooling system, etc.
  • Perform daily reconciliation between various centralized systems (e.g., Kondor+)
  • Perform daily verification of market data after system input (e.g., LIBOR)
  • Manage hardware and software deployment with regular updates
  • Support the upgrade or testing of IT systems according to the instruction from HK IT, and/or Head Office and/or service providers
  • Perform standby duty after normal office hours when required
  • Coordinate with Head Office for issues related to different systems and processes
  • Coordinate with suppliers and service providers
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned
  • Support BCP testing activities

Required Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in system administration and support, preferably in the banking industry
  • Sound knowledge of Tokyo/Japan IT compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in drafting policies and procedures and preparing ad hoc documents according to any requirements
