Your new role

Consumer Solutions has an exciting and rewarding opportunity leading the Performance Silicones TS&D teams in Japan with a focus on Elastomers for Mobility and Transportation. The role will be in Chiba, Japan.
As Senior TS&D Leader, you will connect with customers and Consumer Solutions cross-functional teams to understand and balance innovation needs and partner with technical leaders to help develop and execute on strategies needed to support sustained growth across different markets. You will be responsible for strengthening the Advanced Elastomer portfolio and incubating a healthy growth pipeline with other groups in CS, Core R&D and other businesses.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree, Masters or PhD. in a related technical field such as Chemistry, Chemical Eng., Polymer Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience within the R&D function with a strong focus on R&D functional excellence and people management experience
  • A strong track record demonstrating process & project management skills and tangible success in implementing business strategies and tactics
  • Honed skills in building and maintaining a high-performance team, change management and in eliminating barriers that hinder progress.
  • Ability to influence across organizational & functional boundaries, business acumen and strong networking & communication skills.
  • Technically strong, driven, will challenge and collaborate with team and other functions.
  • Use of scientific method, statistical analysis and decision making, use of modern research tools (DoE, etc.)
  • Mechanically inclined or strong willingness to learn application (injection molding, extrusion, etc.) with chemical/engineering/materials background.
  • Strong prioritization skills – good understanding of what is required to achieve success.
  • Excellent follow up, ownership mindset, positive attitude, desire to acknowledge and overcome challenges
