International e-commerce retailer is looking for a Legal Director to establish their Legal framework in Japan

Your new company

This international e-commerce retailer is the fastest growing in its sector, listed on the US stock market. The company has exceeded the traditional e-commerce trade-offs, providing lightning-fast delivery and lowest prices on millions of items to its customers. The company has multiple offices around the world and, to capitalise on the company’s establishment in Japan, they are looking for a Legal Director to establish their legal framework.

Your new role

You’ll effectively work hands-on with the Global Legal Chief, responsible for leading and executing all legal matters in Japan. Supporting on drafting, negotiating, providing legal advice, and the integration into the Japanese market. Represent the company in connection with regulators in Japan. The opportunity to work closely and collaborate with internal business partners on company-wide initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have previous experience in a similar role within legal to lead to your success, as well as:
  • Minimum 8 years in-house or private practice experience
  • Native Japanese and Business English language abilities
  • Retail or digital industry experience is a plus.
